The Left-Handed Guitar Players That Changed Music By John Engel
Al McKay was the "glue" that bound Earth, Wind & Fire's stunnnig rhythm section. He also co-wrote a number of the group's mega-hits. Prior to EW&F, he played with Ike & Tina Turner, Sammy Davis Jr., the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band, and Isaac Hayes. Today, he continues in the melodic and complex R&B tradition of the 1970s with his own 14-piece formation, the Al McKay All Stars.
