JERRY DE VILLIERS JR.
guitar
Plays Guitar Left Handed with default stringing.
Jerry De Villiers Jr. has devoted a lot of time to learning and mastering jazz-related idioms, is very emotionally connected to the music he creates, specializes in instrumental material, and writes music for films. Besides being a prolific film composer, he has performed extensively and recorded with Alain Caron, Sylvain Gagnon, Laurence Jalbert, James Gelfand, Michel Pagliaro, Jeff Smallwood, Eduardo Pipman, Marie-Denise Pelletier, Diane Dufresne, Sylvie Bernard, Irka & Tadeo, and others.
For his solo project, De Villiers pooled topnotch musicians from Quebec, France, and Los Angeles, including his close friend, keyboardist Jerry Atkin, who plays on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Among the tracks De Villiers recorded, several stand out as musical tours de force. The recordings are luxuriously produced, yet maintain a vivid intensity.
Jerry De Villiers Jr. commands awe-inspiring technique on guitar as well as consummate arranging and composing chops. Thanks to finding a livelihood in film scoring, he will hopefully be able to make his intelligent and forceful personal music known to a wider audience.
